I decided to do a winter berry theme for the holidays because I love berries!
Cost plus world market was selling garlands for 50% off and Michael’s had the 25% off sale item coupon for that week so it worked out great for me. I also picked up adorable bristle brush animal ornaments for the fireplace mantle.
The Winter Berry wreath is from the Home Depot Martha Stewart collection and it was reasonably priced. The red from the wreath really pops against white doors!
We all love Trader Joe’s and we can spread the love by wrapping holiday gifts in their paper bags! Trader Joe’s holiday paper bags actually have holiday paper ornaments printed on there to cut out as well, but I prefer to use the entire bag to wrap presents because it just looks really cool.
I bought candy cane wired ribbon from Cost Plus World Market and tied it around the presents. I apologize for the quality of the photo. It was taken with my phone.
I decided to start a blog on interior decoration and crafty stuff for home decor. I became interested in home decor right when I purchased my first house in Southern California. It’s not a very big house, but me and my husband bought it because it had a lot of charm and a gorgeous view. Lots that you see here will be works in progress as I have just started with a blank slate. My style is rustic, simplistic shapes, farm chic with a modern twist. In this blog, I’ll be sharing ways on how to decorate your home on a budget.
First Project, Christmas Ornaments
I didn’t want to over do it but I thought that hanging Christmas Ornaments are gorgeous, so here’s my first take on it. I only added 5 to the chandelier to keep it simple. I bought these nice inexpensive Martha Stewart ornaments from Home Depot. They are shatter proof, which is great because I’m clumsy.
Usually designers use Christmas ribbon to hang ornaments but I thought it was too flashy for my home’s style, so I used hemp instead. I might add a few smaller, different shaped ornaments to vary it up a bit.
It took forever to find a decent sized apothecary jar to house Christmas Ornaments. The ones at Cost Plus World Market are too large and at TJ Maxx’s Home Goods as well. Michael’s has a better selection plus there are a ton of coupons every week and deals.
